LUNA Team receives ESA Team Excellence Award

The LUNA Team has been honored with the ESA Team Excellence Award, recognizing the outstanding collaboration and dedication that made Europe’s unique lunar analog facility a reality.

Jointly managed by DLR and ESA, the LUNA Analog Facility provides a state-of-the-art environment for research, astronaut training, equipment testing, and technology development in preparation for future Moon missions. Since its inauguration in September 2024, the facility has successfully hosted more than 30 campaigns.

The award highlights the team’s interdisciplinary expertise, innovative approach, and strong cooperation, which have been key to the successful planning, construction, and operation of LUNA.
