First LUNA experiments cast their shadows ahead

A working group from the German Federal Association of Students in Space Flight (BVSR) spent several days at a conference in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance. The focus was on developing a rover concept, which will then be tested at the LUNA analogue facility and made available for university research. A first meeting to define the project, called CASIMAR, has already taken place, and now a larger group of representatives from various student spaceflight associations has met in Friedrichshafen to discuss further concepts and ideas. Besides Prof. Dr. Olthoff from the University of Stuttgart, the LUNA project management team was present to give impulses and first impressions.

The BVSR is one of several organisations that are already actively involved in the preparation of the LUNA research. The BVSR is an umbrella organisation of currently 13 student associations in Germany that are involved in space projects with the aim of networking, common interest finding and representation.
